    Introducing Müller Farm Insight

Dairy giant Müller has launched Müller Farm Insight, an exclusive new service for Müller Direct farmers.

Müller has already confirmed an unprecedented investment in its UK business, and a series of measures to help supplying farmers build vibrant businesses for the future. The dairy company has identified a potential £700m worth of additional sales of dairy products, made with milk from British farmers, by 2020.

Müller Farm Insight offers valuable real time data, welfare tools and benchmarking which could lead to significant improvements and cost savings for Müller Direct’s 700 farmer suppliers.

The specialised and technical service will be fully funded by Müller and provided by AB Sustain, and is in place for farmers who would like to improve the performance of their dairy enterprise and increase their margins through proven and practical recommendations.

A trained farm advisor will walk the herd with the farmer to assess and agree the current status of the herd, recording the information directly onto a tablet. The process takes a couple of hours and ends with an easy to read printed report and detailed discussion.

Müller Farm Insight is optional and Müller Direct farmers are being contacted directly to discuss in further detail.

Rob Hutchison, agriculture director at Müller said: “From showcasing herd performance in simple monetary terms and highlighting potential margin gains, to identifying cost savings and best practice benchmarking, the launch of Müller Farm Insight marks a real milestone as we continue to help our supplying farmers build successful dairy businesses for the future.

“After implementing the recommendations from a recent farm visit, the farmer has seen £17,850 worth of savings. Whilst this may not be typical or achievable in every case, it’s a hugely beneficial service which we look forward to discussing with our 700 Müller Direct farmers.”
