After going into administration late last year, the Chafer Machinery and Horstine brands have been acquired by Nexus Technology and Engineering Ltd.

The new company is called Nexus Chafer Ltd.

Nexus Technology and Engineering Ltd was set up to offer advanced navigation and positioning technology, specifically within the agricultural industry. According to the company, the acquisition of Chafer and Horstine provides a natural synergy to the existing portfolio.

“It is the start of a new chapter for both companies, founded on respect for heritage, continuity of excellence, and ambitious future growth,” says Nexus Chafer’s sales and marketing director, James Bilson. “We recognise the strength of the Chafer brand and are proud to build on its solid foundations, extending over the last three decades.

“This acquisition represents more than a change in ownership,” he says. “It is the start of a new chapter in the ongoing development of Chafer sprayers that retains a long-standing reputation, which boasts a dedicated and professional team, along with a loyal customer base that stretches to all corners of the UK.”

The statement goes on to extend thanks to the former directors, management team and staff at Chafer, who have made the transition as seamless as possible.

The company states that it is committed to active engagement, continuous improvement and maintaining open communication with new and existing customers.

“We want to thank Chafer’s loyal customers for their continued trust and support over many years and especially during this most recent transition period,” says James. “We warmly welcome you to Nexus Chafer Ltd and look forward to continuing to serve you with transparency, integrity, and genuine care.

“Our vision is clear and ambitious: to become a market-leading UK sprayer manufacturer, first nationally and then globally, delivering the highest-quality machinery supported by outstanding service, innovation, and technology,” he explains. “With a renewed energy and a deep respect for Chafer’s heritage, Nexus Chafer Ltd is ready for the future.”
