Spaldings, a leading supplier of parts, tools and equipment to the agricultural and groundcare industries, has invested heavily in its Sales, Marketing and Product Development functions to get off to a flying start in 2014.

After a successful 2013, the company has taken the decision to invest in these three key areas of the business, with satisfying customers’ needs at the heart of these changes. The company has grown significantly over the last five years and now employs 160 people in rural Lincolnshire.

The entire Sales Function, covering both Agricultural and Groundcare divisions is now headed up by Sales Director, Roger Chase. Roger was previously the Director of Agricultural Sales and has worked for the company since 1985. Roger has appointed both Agricultural and Groundcare Key Account Teams to manage large customer accounts and groups, already proving an invaluable asset and contact point for these customers. The Telesales teams have grown from 20 to 30 over the last 12 months and will continue to expand into 2014.

“Due to continued expansion in both the telesales & customer service departments we have had to relocate them to a new building nearby, also allowing the company to expand its warehouse facility.” says Roger Chase.

Laura Pearson has been brought in to head up the Marketing Function, consisting of in-house digital and print designers, as well as a new Marketing Assistant. The Marketing Team at Spaldings play a fundamental role in developing the customer offers that go out each month both in the post and via email. The team are constantly looking for ways to improve promotional material and welcome feedback from their customers.

The Product Development team at Spaldings play a key role, identifying and introducing over 1,000 new products each year. Nigel Whelan, Head of Product Development & Marketing states, “Our intention is to offer a one stop shop for farming and groundcare businesses, continually adding new products to our range that have either been requested by customers or are new innovative products that we feel will benefit our customer base.”

Patrick McGee has joined the Product Development team as a Trainee Product Engineer, after graduating from Harper Adams Agricultural University in 2013.

In addition, Max Ellis has been brought in as a Product Support Technician out in the field helping our customers up and down the country
