Following the announcement that 19 people have lost their lives in agriculture since April 1st, the National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC) has added new imagery to its ‘Vital to UK Agriculture’ campaign.
The new display, featuring 19 caps to represent the lives lost, will be at the Midlands Machinery Show and at Lamma next year.
A statement from the organisation says:
Our hearts go out to the families who have tragically lost loved ones in the past six months, and we need to prevent other families experiencing such loss.
We need the entire sector to work together and remind each other that we are all vital to our family, friends and businesses. As tempting as a shortcut may seem at the time, safety mistakes generally come at great expense; emotional, financial and practical. If you are trying to save time or money, the only route is the safe route!
The NAAC is asking that contractors, farmers and the wider industry show their support and use the Stay Safe stickers (available here, free of charge) as a visual reminder to take the correct actions and stay safe.
