Cereals marked the first UK showing of the Lemken Solitair NT direct drill. The 6m machine uses the ProDisc single disc coulter, mounted a 10deg undercut and 7deg inclination to the direction of travel.
According to the company, this provides reliable soil penetration and lowers the power requirement. Depth control rollers are used to ensure a consistent seeding depth, with up to 340kg of coulter pressure available.
Various seeding options are available, with up to three products mixed and sown using the single-shot system, or A/B sowing when using a split hopper, placing product at different points to meet demand. An additional 500-litre MultiHub is also available, with product applied at the coulters, or via baffle plates.
Row cleaners clear trash and residue out of the seed zone, to minimise hairpinning, and this can be quickly moved out of work if not required. The drill is completed with a serrated closing roller which aerates and compresses the soil to promote emergence.
