Imported from New Zealand, the Taege range of drills has been updated with a new air model, capable of sowing all seeds – according to the company – at rates 500g up to 350kg.
It features a cooling system for the hydraulic oil, which recycles the heat to warm the air in the distribution system.
Metering is done via a sponge roller, which minimises the risk of seed damage, with all product then blown into the distribution tower. The design of the tower is dimpled so that product mixes effectively before being pushed to the tine coulters.
Tines are mounted on a diamond box section, keeping the mounting point ahead of the sowing point. Tungsten face tips are used to minimise wear, and the company says it can work direct or on worked ground.
1,700 litres of hopper capacity is available, split into two 850-litre units for seed and fertiliser, and calibration can be done quickly from a terminal at the side of the drill. The company states that the 3m drill requires just 100hp.
