BKT and Massey Ferguson co-engineer new tyre

For the launch of its 7S Mark 2 tractor, Massey Ferguson has worked with BKT to co-engineer a new size in the Agrimax V-Flecto tyre range.

The target of the project was to reach a rear tyre diameter of 2m, compared to the standard 1.93m, without impacting the tractor’s engineering constraints, or the balance between the front and rear axles.

Three new models have been introduced: a VF 650/70 R42 rear, a VF 710/60 R44 rear and a VF 600/65 R30 front tyre.

According to the companies, the VF 650/70 R 42 combined with the VF 600/65 R 30, provides a versatile setup for farmers and contractors working across different applications. With its 2m rear diameter and balanced 650mm width, it is intended to support a large footprint, good maneuverability and efficient performance in plowing, transport and daily field operations.

The larger R44 model is designed to offer a large contact area, low-pressure fieldwork and strong stability, especially when working on slopes or on the road.

“Our collaboration with Massey Ferguson reflects the way we support OEM projects: as a technical exchange from the earliest development stages, not simply as a fitment exercise” said Silvia Busnelli, head OEM agriculture Europe, BKT Europe. “The new Agrimax V-flecto combinations for the MF 7S Mark 2 started from a precise engineering requirement and clearly demonstrate how tire development can contribute directly to the performance of a tractor platform.”
