Easy RTK entry with the John Deere StarFire 7000

John Deere’s new StarFire 7000 receiver offers an RTK accuracy of +/- 2.5cm, without extra hardware; reportedly offering a smoother entry into precision farming.

With many farmers forgoing RTK technology because of the cost of the initial investment, John Deere’s new correction signal – StarFire RTK – can be activated by purchasing a renewable licence, to remove the necessity for additional hardware investments or activations.

Alike previous John Deere models, the new receiver offers the free SF1 correction signal as standard but can be upgraded to Radio and Mobile RTK. The StarFire 7000 receives Galileo and BeiDou-Satellite signals in addition to GPS and GLONASS, for stronger signal strength and better independence from interference (such as tree shading).

The receiver is available as a universal/transportable version, which is suitable for flexible use, and as an integrated version that is built directly into the roof of the machine from the factory. The receiver is also compatible with new and existing machines and can therefore be used for an entire fleet of vehicles.

To ensure the security of the receiver, John Deere allows users to set up a PIN code. The PIN code can be defined for two levels of access, for example, an administrator and an operator. A mechanical lock is available, and the receiver can also be removed from the machine to be stored separately.

The new StarFire 7000 will be available to order with the new Model Year 23 X-Series Combines as an integrated version. It will be available as a universal solution for retrofit in winter 2022/23.
