Tractor of the Year – Best of Utility: McCormick X6.414 P6-Drive

The McCormick X6.414 P6-Drive sits in the middle of the three-model range, with a maximum power output of 135hp, boosting to 146hp, from the FPT four-cylinder engine. Torque levels reach 551Nm at 1,400Nm, with power put to the ground with the in-house P6-Drive powershift system, providing 24×24 gears with the option of a creeper.

Notably, the transmission offers 16 gears in the 4kph-12kph working range and can reach 50kph at 1,965rpm.

The closed-centre, load-sensing hydraulics system offers 114 litres per minute, with an independent 44-litre pump for low pressure functions and lubrication. Up to five electronic rear spool valves can be specified, with the option of Power Beyond, and there is an electronic rear hitch lifting 7,200kg and the option of a 2,500kg front hitch.

Increasing the versatility of the machine is the option of a front loader, lifting to 4.1m with a maximum capacity of 1,900kg and an integrated SmartPilot joystick.

As an option, the tractor can be fitted with independent front suspension, available with automatic greasing and coming as standard with electro-hydraulic engagement and self-levelling. It’s complemented with mechanical cab suspension with 96mm stroke rear shock absorbers.

Into the cabin, controls are laid out on an All-in-One joystick, with engine memory, transmission control and hydraulic functions. It also links to the precision farming systems available, with headland management control, and McCormick completes its Utility entry with a host of guidance options and ISOBUS systems.
