McConnel launches new Power Arm 67-Series

McConnel has expanded its range of Power Arm hedgecutters with the introduction of a new look 67-Series, available with reach options from 5m up to 7m and powered by a 70hp hydraulic system.

It’s designed for farmers, contractors and local authorities and marks the arrival of a new design style and the next-generation Power Arm.

Key features include the restyled hydraulic tank, incorporating a two-piece rear guard and sculpted polypropylene top cover. This has been developed to improve access to the hydraulic system, with the rear guard hinged at one side for quick opening.

The new one-piece top cover is sculpted from impact-resistant polypropylene, which is said to minimise material build-up and prevent the ingress of dust and moisture.

Customers can choose from five different arm sets, including 5.5m and 6m straight arms, 6.5m and 7m telescopic units and a 6m variable forward reach (VFR) option. VFR enables users to position the flailhead alongside the cab to improve visibility and comfort, as well as improve manoeuvrability when cutting around obstacles or working in narrow lanes.

Advanced features, including Hy-reach geometry, parallel arm geometry and Power Slew are all equipped as standard.

At the heart of the machine is a 70hp gear hydraulic system, using the company’s in-house hydraulic valve block. The system includes electric rotor control, Soft-Start rotor engagement and a high-capacity oil cooler.

Three different control packages are available across the range, including the proportional Motion control, Evolution Control and the flagship Revolution control system, which offers increased functionality and can be specified with the Easy Drive System to increase verge mowing speeds.

All models utilise a heavy-duty mainframe for three-point mounting. Extra stability can be specified with a four-point hitch or the five-point axle mounting subframe, both of which are available as a retrofit option.

Completing the unit is the company’s own range of attachments, including 1.2m, 1.5m and 1.6m flailheads, sawheads, rotary heads and cutterbars.
