Precision farming specialist SoilEssentials celebrates 25 years of operation this year and has added another reason to celebrate with a Gold Innovation Award from the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS).
Awarded for its SKAi spot spraying system, which also won a Silver award three years ago, the company states that this recognises the continued evolution of the product.
Developed in-house, it uses artificial intelligence and computer vision to detect and treat weeds in real time for ultra-targetted herbicide applications.
“Winning Gold during our 25th anniversary year makes this moment even more special, a tremendous honour and testament to the dedication of our team” said managing director, Jim Wilson. “SKAi reflects everything we’ve worked toward over the last quarter-century—innovation, practical benefits for farmers, and a vision for a more sustainable future.”
The SKAi system is available now, with a variety of specifications. It can be mounted on a custom-built sprayer boom, developed by Team Sprayers, in working widths of 12m, 15m or 24m, or retrofitted for other sprayer brands.
