5,500 specialist visitors come to Amatechnica 2014

Amatechnica 2014, held on 22nd May 2014 at Amazone in Hasbergen-Gaste, was again well attended. Throughout the day around 5,500 farmers, agricul-tural contractors and sales partners came to the event to catch up on the latest Amazone agricultural machinery. On the 12 hectare exhibition site, a varied programme was presented to the visitors, among them more than 1,000 from around the world.

In the course of the machinery drive pasts and practical demonstrations, visi-tors had the chance to evaluate those Amazone’s innovations first seen at Agritechnica in practical operation. Much attention was paid here, above all, to the new Cayron plough; being the first, in-house produced, reversible plough from Amazone. In between the presentations, the programme transferred into the Amazone Active Centre and a 1,500 m³ marquee. Much interest was taken in, among others, a lecture by the retired police chief inspector Heinz Haar-lammert on the topic “agricultural machinery in road traffic”. Also well attended were the factory tours and the introduction of the current Amazone field trials. Looking back to the past in agricultural technology was the historic ploughing with a team of horses and a Lanz-Bulldog with steel wheels built in around 1936. This Bulldog pulled an old historic plough produced by, in those times, the biggest plough manufacturer, Rudolph Sack from Leipzig. Today, Ama-zone continues this tradition of plough production at the factory in Leipzig.

One highlight following the specialist field programme was the drawing of the prize winners in the tombola. The main prize, a gold-coloured ZA-M spreader with weighing system was won by Andreas Eckerlin from D-31275 Lehrte in Germany. From this competition, in aid of “World Hunger Help”, a sum of 10,000 Euro was raised, including a contribution from Amazone. The end of Amatechnica 2014 concluded with an evening event in the marquee where the band “Country Girls” played.
