Since announcing that Maschio Gaspardo would establish its own UK subsidiary away from Opico, the company has been working to hit the ground running when operations begin on the 1st of November.

The firm now has a dedicated premises and a team of experienced staff, with the aim of the new company to bring in the Italian company’s full range of products. Maschio will now offer new lines including fertiliser spreaders, mounted and trailed sprayers, direct drills, hedgecutters, balers, mower conditioners and inter-row cultivators.

These products have been available across Europe for a number of years and are said to be well-proven in the field. The company hopes that by adding these machines, it will bolster the offering to its dealer network.

A key part of the process has been recruiting staff and the company now has an experienced service team, with regional sales staff backed up by a BASIS-qualified sales product manager. The warehouse team is equipped to limit customer downtime.

    Warren Rivers-Scott

Heading up the UK operation is managing director Warren Rivers-Scott. He said: “By widening our product offering from just six or seven lines previously, to over 27, we have a great opportunity to help our dealers grow their businesses.

“From my previous roles, I’m fortunate in having a wide knowledge of the UK agricultural machinery business and am determined we will find a way to work with every dealer to find a path to success.”

The company will be based in a 20,000-square-foot facility close to the A1/A46 intersection in Lincolnshire, which will accommodate an administrative headquarters, as well as warehousing. The company aims to also use the premises for dealer sales and service training in the future.

“With the 1st November deadline for the handover of distribution fast approaching, with the new site and staff in place we are well positioned to hit the ground running,” said Mr Rivers-Scott.

“Although we had a strong presence with new product lines at the Cereals event in June, at LAMMA in January customers will get the opportunity to experience a whole raft of Maschio Gaspardo equipment not previously seen before in the UK.”
