New agricultural accountancy tool to aid financial management

Extending the Farmplan suite of business and accounts solutions, the company has introduced Farmplan Business Cloud. The cloud-based accountancy package is the first entirely web-based addition offered by the company.

It’s designed to combine an intuitive interface with functionality, allowing users to work with real-time insights and the ability to automate time-consuming manual transactions.

Farmplan Business Cloud is based on user feedback and can be used to access seasonal income, complex VAT rules and contra extras. When opening the application for the first time, a series of prompts asks about the user’s unique farm set-up and generates a personalised interface to meet the requirements.

This can be further customised as much or as little as needed and can bring together all aspects of the farm business, even diversified operations.

To aid data management, it permits an automated feed from the farmer’s bank, instantly entering details and reducing the risk of errors. Bank details can be matched with relevant categories or set to follow predefined rules. As an example, if a user makes a monthly payment for their bill, this can be marked as such and automatically categorised going forward.

Changes to tax regulations will require all VAT registered businesses to use accounting software to record and demonstrate their financial history. Farmplan Business Cloud is prepared for this necessity. Additionally, users can save time and have instant access to their data in order to make informed decisions. Data is kept fully secure in the cloud for complete peace of mind.

“Farmplan Business Cloud is part of the next generation of account and business tools for the industry, backed by a support team with extensive experience and deep knowledge of farm management processes,” said Anne Cianchi, project manager for Farmplan Business Cloud. “Although a wide range of cloud accounting software packages is already on the market, the majority are not geared up to deal with agricultural scenarios – until now. Farmplan Business Cloud has been created by agricultural experts, for the agricultural community, and is underpinned by familiar terminology that means something to your business.”

The system will also include telephone, email and in-app support from a support team, plus training from a dedicated department.
