Amazone introduces a new rotary harrow

A new rotary harrow for tractors up to 240hp has been developed by Amazone. The KE 3002-240 comes in a 3m working width and features the Rotamix system, said to be especially important for intensive soil crumbling on heavy ground.

The Rotamix system comprises twelve tine carriers, with the input load distributed across all rotors. The trailing tines are designed to provide a good crumb structure for good results in heavy ground, creating an optimum seedbed especially after ploughing.

Twelve tine carriers allow for a smaller spur gear design, making the machine more compact and lighter which reduces the required lifting capacity of the tractor and keeps the unit close to the tractor when combined with a harrow-mounted seed drill. This additionally has a positive impact on the front ballasting.

The Long-Life-Drive offers a long service life and smooth running, with a double sealing system with a cassette sealing ring and labyrinth seal protecting against dust, moisture and dirt. In addition to this, the proven Quick & Safe provides the 290mm tines with an integrated stone release, while the tines themselves can be exchanged without tools.

The DirectDrive gearbox means there is no power redirection, providing a higher power flow directly to spur gears

At the heart of the machine is the DirectDrive gearbox, which transfers a higher power flow directly to the spur gears. As with the KX and KG rotary cultivators, there is no power redirection. It can be operated at PTO shaft speeds of 540, 750 and 1,000rpm and the rotor speed can be adapted to suit different soil types.

The entire Amazone active tillage range is available with the QuickLink quick coupling system. The latest KE 02 can also be mounted under different seed drills using this system, forming a compact unit with the Cataya harrow-mounted conventional drill and the Avant 02 front tank system. With a new reinforced headstock, the Centaya Super pneumatic drill can also be, as can the Precea-A precision air seeder and the D9 mounted conventional unit can be fitted with the LiftPack system.

An optional hydraulic depth control system can be fitted, with an easily visible scale for constant monitoring of the working depth. Extendable lower links allow the KE 02 to be adapted to any tractor and facilitates the attachment of wheel mark eradicators.

The depth of the levelling board is guided by the roller and this deflects upwards thanks to the integrated overload protection. A setting tool is also offered for precise adjustment, which can be universally used for other machine adjustments.

Finally, a wide range of rear rollers with different diameters is offered to suit soil conditions. This extends from the light cage roller to a wedge ring roller. It’s further available with a matrix tyre profile, a trapezium roller and a tooth packer roller for medium to heavy soils.
