Polish manufacturer Mandam previewed its Duo disc and tine cultivator at the event, which it says will be available from around May. It’s available in a 3m working width, requiring around 220hp up front, combining the company’s existing Gal-C disc harrow upfront, with two rows of 560mm diameter notched discs, and the Spec HD tine cultivator at the rear, which has a breakback force of 650kg.
Unique to the Mandam range is its maintenance-free hubs, developed by a sister company in Poland. This can handle forces up to 70kN and comes with a five-year warranty.
As part of the Duo, but set to move across the full portfolio, these hubs are now clamped to the arms instead of being welded. This means that if any damage should occur, the hub can be quickly and easily replaced without having to change the full leg.
Field testing will take place ahead of the full launch next year. Additional working widths for the UK market are not currently under development, due to the added cost and wear points of a hydraulically-folding machine, although some regions of Europe may see a 3.5m rigid machine as well.
