A new generation of DTS drill was showcased on the Sumo stand, with models from the mounted 3m, up to a trailed 9m machine. According to the company, the redesign has been implemented to address certain weaknesses found across the old generation.
While the mounted machine retains the 1,900-litre grain tank, the trailed machines have a capacity increase from 3,500 litres up to 5,000 litres, with options to split the tank 50:50 or 60:40 for grain and fertiliser.
A Stocks Ag applicator can also be mounted at the front of the machine to enable a third product to be applied.
The coulters now have a single ram design, making the working elements more compact, along with a new headstock and wing design that shortens the machine. Within the metering system, a cast polyethylene roller has been used to minimise the risk of shearing, while also reportedly working faster than the previous generation.
