New Holland has announced that the dealership Russells, based in Malton, North Yorkshire, has acquired neighbouring New Holland dealer, RES, with aims to expand into the Leicestershire area.

Russells currently has nine New Holland Agriculture depots across northern England, in the areas of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire. With the acquisition of RES, Russells is planning to retain the RES Harby depot near Melton Mowbray, to expand their agricultural business into the Leicestershire area.

Bob Skinner, owner of RES, and the RES team at the Harby branch, will all be joining the Russells team too. Mr Skinner commented: “Whilst these decisions are always difficult, myself, my family, and all the fantastic team of people at RES are confident that the integration of the RES business into Russells will strengthen the service we provide.”

Paul Russell, CEO of Russells, said: “We are looking forward to the challenge and opportunities the new territory provides, whilst maintaining an excellent level of service to the existing customer base. We are delighted to welcome Bob and all the other experienced staff from RES to Russells, and we look forward to growing our business in the new area together with New Holland.”

Business director of New Holland UK & ROI, Pat Smith, congratulated Mr Russell on the acquisition and thanked Mr Skinner, his family, and all the RES staff who have represented New Holland over the years. “It is particularly pleasing that those current staff will continue to represent New Holland with Russells in the future,” he concluded.
