Maschio Gaspardo to launch new kit at Cereals

Following the announcement that Maschio Gaspardo will establish its own subsidiary in the UK, with support from previous importer and distributor Opico, the company will introduce a host of new products at Cereals.

According to the company, while new in the UK, the machines have been available throughout the rest of Europe for a number of years and are well-proven in the field.

Primo twin-disc fertiliser spreaders feature twin shutters, one to deal with rate control and another to shut off the flow of fertiliser at the headlands. Maschio states that the key advantage is that these can work independently of the rate control sliders, without influencing the application rate, meaning there is no overlapping at the headland bout.

The model on the stand will be a Primo Isotronic Exclusive, with 32-section, GPS-controlled headland shutoff and variable rate compatibility, with the ability to alter rates to left and right discs independently.

The Gigante disc-coulter direct drill is available in working widths up to 6cm, with 15cm or 18cm rows pacings. Twin hoppers can be specified for simultaneous seed and fertiliser applications, while the coulter system includes disc openers.

Rubber or steel gauge wheels work in conjunction with the machine’s coil spring linkage to maintain an even seeing depth, while angled closing wheels ensure good seed-to-soil contact.

Also on the stand will be the Terremoto high-speed stubble cultivator, available in 3m to 5m working widths and comprising three rows of ripper tines with a choice of points to suit the soil type and working depth.

It’s also possible to adjust the angle of the tines to alter the aggressiveness. Shear bolt and coil spring overload systems are available, while a series of scalloped levelling discs follow the tines.

Finally, the company will showcase its Toro power harrows, which are now available with ISOBUS control, making Maschio the first company to implement the system on a standalone power harrow.

The system allows the operator to monitor key functions, including gearbox oil temperature, clutch slippage, rotor speed, power consumption, hours worked and area covered. ISOBUS controls can also be used to adjust the working depth and joint alignment when folding for transport.
