Rob Thurkettle has been appointed as the managing director for Agrifac UK, effective from the 1st of November, taking over business operations for Agrifac and Hardi.

Having been involved in agriculture from a young age, Mr Thurkettle began his career as a trainee farm manager before shifting his focus into a more commercial line of work. He worked as a sales manager for a John Deere dealer and later held similar roles within AGCO and TopCon dealerships.

Most recently, he has held a leadership role as managing director of Sulky UK.

Commenting on this exciting new chapter in his career, Mr Thurkettle said: “This career move presents me with the opportunity to join a forward-thinking, innovative company that continues to serve our industry with products at the forefront of technology.

“The Agrifac and Hardi brands pride themselves on being trendsetters within sustainable farming practices, a commitment I know we can continue to deliver to growers by equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge. My priority will primarily be to continuously deliver this promise to customers as we support them in progressing into the future.”

Wim van den Bosch, CEO of Agrifac Machinery B.V. said: “Rob has an exceptional background and experience within UK agriculture, as well as a sound understanding of business management.

“Structurally, the business has recently undergone a considerable investment programme, focusing on technology, processes and people. As Rob steps into his new role, we have every confidence that he will continuously bolster this successful strategy and focus on further improving and maximising our customer service offerings, implementing these across the company.

“We look forward to welcoming Rob to the team as we begin our collaboration with him leading Agrifac UK into the future”
